has been working in casting since graduating from college in the pre-internet world of the late 1980’s. In a career spanning Film, Series TV, Pilots, Commercials and Industrials – he has worked with every major studio and network, and a variety of known and unknown directors (including but not limited to; Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Barry Levinson, Brett Ratner, Martin Campbell, Peter Medak, Agnieszka Holland, Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Stephan Gaghan and Betty Thomas…). His casting team work has been nominated for Emmys and Artios, and he is proud to have earned the Actors Center Theatre Distinction Award.

An educator, active in classes and seminars for professional actors, John is co-instructor of theon-going “Working Actor” series of classes, which include workshops in The Business, Audition Technique, On Camera Technique, Scene Study, and Acting Skills. He also conducts workshops for the SAG Conservatory series, The Actors’ Center, Smithsonian Associates, The Modeling Institute, Women in Film & Video and others. With all the time left over, John has been adjunct faculty at two area colleges.

He is the President and Creative Director of Campanile Media, The Artistic Director and Co-founder of Actors Company Theatre, Artistic Director for the Education & Entertainment Foundation (5.01.c.3), and veteran of the Maryland Film Commission.

As a Director and a screenwriter, he hires Actors - and puts words in their mouths - on stage and screen.

  

John lives in Baltimore, MD, where instead of putting food on the table or owning a new car, he chooses to teach practical advice to real actors for reasonable rates.
